How long does processing take?

30 business days after you have submitted all required materials.

Do I need to be a Clayton County Resident?

Yes, in order to qualify you for this program you must be a resident of Clayton county.

Do I need income?

Yes, you must have a sustained income that can cover your living expense for the foreseeable future.

Income includes: wages, unemployment, social security etc.

What happens when my payment is ready?

The landlord will be notified that their ERA payment is ready. Landlords will then choose an appointment slot to pick up their tenant’s ERA check at the HTNH Clayton County office. If the landlord cannot pick up the check during a designated appointment slot then the check will be mailed. See the Processing Flow for more information.

How do I check my application status?

Check you Neighborly client portal for status updates.

What does my status mean?

  • Application in Progress: The applicant is in the process of completing the application and has not submitted it yet.

  • Application Submitted: The applicant has completed the application.

  • Application Under County Review: Application Under County Review

  • Assigned to Organization: Assigned to Organization

  • Application Under Review by Organization: A reviewer has started reviewing the case files for eligibility.

  • Pending Applicant Information: The application has missing, illegible, or incorrect information. The applicant has been notified to provide the additional information but has not yet responded.

  • Approved - Pending Landlord: Tenant is approved, pending landlord

  • Approved - Pending Payment: The initial review, QA/QC review, and client review are complete, the reviewer checklist, QA/QC checklist, and client review checklist are complete. The case is ready for payment.

  • Paid: Paid, check is ready for pickup or has been mailed.

  • Duplicate: You have multiple applications under your name.

  • Withdrawn: The application has been withdrawn by the tenant.

  • Denied: Applicant does not qualify for the program

  • Recertification Submitted: Approval for recertification has been submitted.

What are “Covid-19 Related” circumstances?

An individual may receive PUA benefits if they are not working because:

Diagnosis

  • The individual has symptoms of COVID-19 and is seeking a medical diagnosis;

  • The individual or a member of his or her household has been diagnosed with COVID-19;

  • The individual is caring for a family member or a member of his or her household who has been diagnosed with COVID-19;

Child care

  • A child or other person in the individual’s household for which the individual has primary caregiving responsibility is unable to attend school or another facility that is closed as a direct result of the COVID-19 public health emergency, and that school or facility care is required for the individual to work;

Quarantine

  • The individual is unable to reach the place of employment because of a quarantine imposed as a direct result of the COVID-19 public health emergency;

  • The individual is unable to reach the place of employment because he or she has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID–19;

New job loss

  • The individual was scheduled to commence employment but does not have a job or is unable to reach the job as a direct result of COVID-19;

Death

  • The individual has become the breadwinner or major support for a household because the head of the household has died as a direct result of COVID-19;

Resignation

  • The individual has to quit his or her job as a direct result of COVID–19; or

Closed Workplace

  • The individual’s place of employment is closed as a direct result of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
